Visiting Professors

In addition to the regular semester-long visits by our “Permanent Visiting Professors” Inka Mülder-Bach (LMU-München) and Joseph Vogl (Humboldt Universität, Berlin), the German Department also has a longstanding tradition of bringing in outstanding international scholars for a semester as visiting faculty. Besides the more recent visiting faculty listed below, over the years this distinguished group has included Aleida Assmann (Konstanz), Wilfried Barner (Göttingen), Dorrit Cohn (Harvard), Peter Fenves (Northwestern), Jochen Hörisch (Mannheim), Alice Kuzniar (University of North Carolina), Eberhard Lämmert (Berlin), Winfried Menninghaus (Berlin), Michael Steinberg (Brown), Liliane Weissberg (University of Pennsylvania) and David Wellbery (Chicago).
