Hedwig Wagner is Assistant Professor for European Media Culture at the Faculty of Media of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar holding a joint position with the Université franco-allemande and the Université Lumière Lyon II. Hedwig Wagner studied Applied Cultural Science and Aesthetics at Hildesheim University, taught Media and Film at the Hochschule für Bildende Kunst Braunschweig as well as Media Philosophy at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Her dissertation entitled Gender as Media. The Prostitute as Figure of Film and Discourse was followed by research projects on the intersection of media and gender and on cultural hermeneutics in the range of difference and trans-difference.
Her fields of research are Media Theory; European studies: Intercultural Hermeneutics / Intercultural studies; Cultural studies: Gender studies / Geospacial studies / Intersection of Media and Gender.
