Joseph Vogl

Joseph Vogl is Professor for Literature and Cultural Theory (Kulturwissenschaft) at the Humboldt-Universität Berlin, permanent Visiting Professor at the Department of German at Princeton University and director of the bi-national graduate program “Das Wissen der Literatur.” Prior to his position at the Humboldt University he was Professor for the Theory and History of Artificial Worlds at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar where remains its co-editor of the journal Archiv für Mediengeschichte.

His fields of research are the history and theory of knowledge; history of danger in modern times; media and discourse theory; history of literature, 18th – 20th century.
