Program: Princeton in Berlin

Course: 310G Foundations of Critical Theory: Media and Power

Location: Berlin, Germany

Dates: May 26 - June 20, 2025

Instructors: Prof. Devin Fore and Dr. Andrew Dechet

Come to Berlin this summer to learn what the giants of Critical Theory had to say about media and power. Readings will include texts by Walter Benjamin, Michel Foucault, Hannah Arendt, and Frantz Fanon. Best yet, the backdrop for the program will be the international metropolis of Berlin, one of the most exciting cultural and political hubs of modern Europe. The intensive seminar, lead by Prof. Devin Fore and Dr. Andrew Dechet, will be complemented by an extensive program of excursions in and around Germany’s capital city. All readings, seminar discussions, and excursions will be in English language: there are no prerequisites for the course and no German is required.

Enrollment through the Global Program System (GPS) begins November 15, 2024 and ends on January 20, 2025.
