James is a junior in the German Department focusing on literary and intellectual history. He is, among other things, interested in literary criticism, cultural institutions and correspondences, fin-de-siècle art and culture, and the role of literature in memory, particularly in post-World War II reconciliation. He is pursuing a minor in Humanistic Studies, participating in the associated Behrman Undergraduate Society of Fellows and directing the advising program for the Western Humanities Sequence. He is also a Peer Academic Advisor for New College West and a captain for the recreational tennis team. James loves to explore nature around Princeton and can often be found studying outside, as well as frequenting campus concerts as much as possible.
