Claire Mitchell

Claire Mitchell hails from Charlotte, North Carolina where she was very involved with the arts, playing viola in both the orchestra and in a string quartet, as well as frequenting screenings at the recently opened local Independent Picture House. When she arrived at Princeton she was set on pursuing math as her primary academic focus but then “the German department stole my heart.” She intends to follow the media and aesthetics track as a German Major while continuing to pursue her more analytical interests. Besides her academic activities at Princeton, Claire loves to go to movies with friends, spends time writing for WPRB’s news and culture section, and is very engaged with SPEAR (Students for Prison Education, Abolition, and Reform) where she is involved in the planning of their annual conference and in advocating for a better tomorrow in the prison reform space.
