Kristiana is a junior in the German department focusing on German cultural and media studies. She is fascinated by the intersections of ideology and identity in the former East and West Germanys, and the lingering impacts of 20th century state socialism on culture and media in Germany. She is also pursuing a Humanistic Studies certificate, and has special interest in anthropological methods and lines of questioning (if it were possible, she would also get a certificate in Anthropology). On campus, she is the social chair for the Nassau Weekly publication, tutors chemistry students at the McGraw Center, and works in the Borrow Direct office in Firestone Library. She loves traveling, learning about people’s lives, and old things. In her free time she likes to collect used postcards, books, clothes, and other assorted trinkets.
