His primary interests are German literature and literary history, specifically of the last century. In Berlin he studied at the Freie Universität in the Politics and German departments respectively. Some highlights of his year abroad were reading excerpts from Vita Activa from Hannah Arendt and Die geschichte des Fräuleins von Sternheim from Sophie von La Roche. As well he worked on his Junior Paper about the novel Seltsame Materie by Terézia Mora.
