Anders Als Die Andern! §175 [Different From The Others] Richard Oswald, 1919; 51 minutes. Reconstruction of this banned and highly controversial first film about homosexuality co-written by the pioneering sexologist Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld; English intertitles; improvised piano score by Joachim Bärenz.

Mädchen In Uniform [Girls In Uniform] Leontine Sagan, 1931; 83 minutes. This feature-length drama about Prussian gender politics in a boarding school for girls is based on Christa Winsloe’s theater piece Gestern und heute, considered one of the first plays of the Weimar Republic that engaged issues of lesbianism; in German with English subtitles.
