MLA Publication Awards McGillen '12 & Birkhold '16

The Modern Language Association of America today announced it is awarding its fourteenth Aldo and Jeanne Scaglione Prize for Studies in Germanic Languages and Literatures to Petra S. McGillen, associate professor of German studies at Dartmouth College, for her book The Fontane Workshop: Manufacturing Realism in the Industrial Age of Print, published by Bloomsbury. Matthew H. Birkhold, associate professor of German at Ohio State University, Columbus, will receive an honorable mention for his book Characters before Copyright: The Rise and Regulation of Fan Fiction in Eighteenth-Century Germany, published by Oxford University Press.
